How Parhelion works
Parhelion works with the data your plant already collects. Nothing is installed and nobody has to go up on the roof.
Output from the inverter
We take output from the inverter portal you already have. No new hardware and no intervention in the plant.
Satellite and weather
For the exact plant location we add solar irradiance, cloud cover, temperature and wind from satellite and weather data.
Digital twin
A physical model of your plant calculates at every moment how much it should produce. It learns from the production history, so it recognises morning shade from a chimney or an inverter limiting output in summer, and does not report such normal behaviour as a fault.
Statistics and neural network
We compare every string with the model and with neighbouring strings that see the same weather. A cloud affects all of them equally, so only a real loss stands out. A neural network finds patterns a person would miss and tells a random fluctuation from a lasting problem.
Finding
Where the loss is, how many kWh and how much money it costs, its probable cause and what to do. After the repair, Parhelion checks by itself that output has come back.
How we build the digital twin
Every plant gets a different model. We build it from the plant’s parameters and fine-tune it on its history.
Plant geometry
Location, panel tilt and orientation, number of modules, string layout and inverters. Without documentation, we derive them from the production record.
Physical model
It converts the irradiance on the panels, their temperature and the losses in cabling and inverters into the output of each string.
Calibration on history
When we connect the plant, we compare the model with its production history. We adjust its parameters, correct the satellite data offset for the site and teach it the shading and inverter limits.
The finished twin
For every string, at every moment, it knows what it should have produced. Every finding starts from this number.
Calibration
Every plant behaves a little differently. One has morning shade from a chimney, another has an inverter that cuts output in summer. The model learns this from the production history. That makes it more precise, so it also catches small underperformance that a generic model would miss.
Loss breakdown
We split the gap between expected and actual output into downtime, shading, soiling, temperature and string faults. You see the estimated loss in kWh for each item.
Small losses, caught early
Basic monitoring alerts you when an inverter goes down or output drops sharply. Parhelion compares every string with the model, so it also catches a few percent that would otherwise go unnoticed.
What to fix first
A thermal drone inspection shows where a plant has a defect. It does not tell you what it costs. Parhelion combines the inspection findings with production data. For every defect it calculates the real loss in kWh and money and ranks repairs by priority.
Inspection findings
INV-03 / STR-D4 / MC4
Increased contact resistance
The MC4 connector is 45 °C warmer than the others. The energy loss is small, but it is a fire risk.
RecommendationReplace the connector immediately.
INV-02 / STR-C2 / M01–M08
PID degradation
Thermal imaging shows higher module temperatures at the negative end of the string. Output is 11% below comparable strings and the gap is growing.
RecommendationPID regeneration, or module replacement if needed.
INV-01 / STR-A5 / M03, M11, M17
Shorted bypass diodes
On three modules, one third of the cells is permanently out of action. The string loses about 5% of its output.
RecommendationReplace junction boxes or modules under warranty.
INV-01 / STR-B1 / M07
Hot spot, cracked cell
One cell is 28 °C warmer than its surroundings. The loss is small so far, but as the temperature rises the module may be damaged.
RecommendationReplace the module and file a warranty claim.

Up to youHandled by the Sunalytiq teamFrequently asked questions
Do we need to install anything for Parhelion?
No. We take the data from the inverter manufacturer’s cloud or through an API. Inverters and data loggers stay as they are. Weather comes from satellite data.
How reliably does Parhelion find faults?
In blind tests on real plant records, it found 97% of inverter outages, mostly on the same day. It caught a 2% drop in string output within 8 weeks in 9 out of 10 cases.
Does it work with our inverter?
We connect to the major inverter brands and manufacturer clouds. The list is above under Supported systems. If your system is not there, write to us and we will check the connection.
We have no technical documentation. Is that a problem?
No. Parhelion works out the tilt, orientation and size of the plant from its production record. Documentation makes the model more precise, but you can start without it.
How long does it take to start?
Connecting the data usually takes a few days. Then we calibrate the model on the production history. You get the first results within four weeks.
Who will see our data?
Only authorised people from the Sunalytiq team and those you give access to. We do not sell data, and a service company only receives the description and location of a fault. Details are in our privacy policy.
How much does it cost?
We price it by plant size or number of installations and the scope of services. Book a consultation and we will send you a quote.
